A long time ago, far away on the planet of Cybertron, a war was being waged between the noble Autobots (led by the wise Optimus Prime) and the devious Decepticons (commanded by the dreaded Megatron) for control over the Allspark, a mystical talisman that would grant unlimited power to whoever possesses it.

This is the plot of the transformers movie and it is not the kind of transformers that I am looking for. Rather than long ago and far away, we need to do something right here and now. The transformational ministry group does not fight devious Decepticons, but we work to battle the insidious enemies of the church---enemies like apathy, lack of growth and the notorious "we-have never-done-it-like-that-before" monster. Our unlimited power is not a magical talisman, but the HOLY SPIRIT of God.

We are looking for people who want to get together to pray, do Bible Study, brainstorm and have fun. We want to think of new and exciting way’s to live out Immanuel’s mission statement: "Sharing Christ’s Love Through Worship, Prayer, and Service."

We have established some guiding principles and it is time to see where they guide us.

1. Jesus is Lord.

2. Praising God is important.

3. Everyone is welcome here. (Children, old people, families, single people, divorced people, handicapped people, gay people, straight people, people of all races, poor people, rich people, strangers, friends….Everyone!)

4. We value our traditions and we value innovation.

5. Sharing our faith is important.

6. Sharing our building with the community is important.

Please pray about this. We will be looking for members in the Fall and it will be a truly joyful experience. One of the motto’s of transformational ministry is that "Transformed people transform churches." Please consider that God might be calling you to become a "Transformer."
